Installation of two beehives within ENSEIRB-MATMECA
About
As part of my studies at ENSEIRB-MATMECA, I had the opportunity, together with three members of the Mafi’eirb project, to install two beehives directly on the school campus. The goal of this initiative is to promote local biodiversity, raise student awareness about the importance of bees, the threat posed by hornets, and more broadly the protection of pollinators. My role included setting up the equipment, performing regular inspections of the colonies, managing critical situations caused by hornet attacks, and providing care for the bees throughout the season. In parallel, I developed a blog-style website to keep students informed about the project’s progress and our various interventions.
